Three photos: 1) Black and white photo depicting Chester Barton on a horse. There are some handwritten notes on the back of the photo -- Barton's mother was Emma Barton Loftus. The photo was taken in her backyard; the ice house can be seen in the background. 2) Color photo showing the Ice House for Braun & Loftus Mercantile. It was eventually sold to Barbara Garcia Peck in 1987, then to Julia Minor Workman in 2003. It is noted that the outhouse in front of the building was "made in CC camps". 3) Color photo showing the side of Emma Loftus' home, including the kitchen windows. The Ice House can be seen in the background on the right. It is noted that Mike Workman renovated the building in 2020, using original barn wood. |
