Black and white photo, sepia tinted, depicting the "Old Douglas Mill". The photo shows the front of a large rectangular shaped building; there are several people and a horse-drawn carriage in front of the mill building. Circa 1904-1905. Handwritten on back: "Old Douglas Mill, Dayton, Nevada (1904 or 1905); left Hense Rae, In buggy Billy Douglas, Carrie Rising and Stanley Rising. Isabel Rising, Manley Johnson, Mr. Washburn, J. H. Rae, Mrs. Louise Rae, Leete Blanchard. I believe last one to be Adam Schock. Pan mill used for recovery of minerals left in tailings after passing through stamp mill." There is also an address stamp for Mr. Z. A. Walmsley of Dayton, NV. |
